Our story

Khmer Golden Silk is a story of unexpected adventure by our passionate founder Mrs. Morn Saroueuth who born and raised in a sericulture family surrounded by other weaving villages in rural Northern Cambodia, Phnom Srok, Banteay Meanchey province. Previoiusly she was a primary school teacher and a mom’s helper for selling Cambodian silk. She drove a hundred kilometer long from hometown to sell scarves and blankets to tourist in Siem Reap.
She gradually involved in weaving community and realized that hand woven textile made by local were not able to sell in market due to the lack of quality and design. She decided to set up a weaving team with 10 weavers in 2003, trained to improve weaving skill from start to the end, create new design bases on market demand and the business expand to hundreds now a day.
She is passionate about premium Cambodian Golden Silk, sustainable practice of natural dye and Cambodian traditional arts that inspired Khmer Golden Silk’s designs, some of which is the iconic traditional Diamond, newly designed Phka Chann and Vine pattern. She has developed textile with unique and quality design for both customer locally and internationally.
